About this piece
Mounted on a cup-and-peg fitting, which is the standard method for a drilled pearl and the one that can be re-glued if it is ever knocked loose. Surface texture is part of the material: a cultured pearl builds up in layers around an implant and small ridges or flat spots are normal. The photograph shows a representative pearl, not this one.
